Selector Required - Women's Representative Teams

Wellington Golf Inc. is seeking expressions of interest to fill the position of team selector (women's) which is part of the WGI Selection Panel.

The Selection Panel is made up of four (4) Selectors and three (3) Team Managers.  The role of the Selection Panel is to select the Wellington Golf Representative teams to compete in events in the WGI Representative Programme. The Selection Panel includes a Selector and Team Manager associated with each of the following Representative Groups

• Mens - Masters, Senior & U19 boys
• Womens - Masters, Senior & U19 Girls

The role of Selector is a voluntary position and may suit a person who has a passion for golf and has experience in selecting golf (or other teams) at a Club or higher level.  Ideally, a Selector will have previous participation experience at a Provincial level or higher, but is no longer competing at that level.

We are looking for the following attributes:

•  Ability to establish an environment of trust and integrity where players have confidence in the selection processes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise with players, coaches and team managers
• A willingness to be prepared to make and justify tough decisions and to be accountable for those decisions
• A commitment to attend and be visible at WGI and other events which relate to the selection process
