Good Wins Over Southland & Otago

The Wellington Men's Masters team has posted two good results to win the overall fixture, against Southland and Otago at the Freyberg Masters National Interprovincial for later in the year, the wonderful Otatara course at the Invercargil Golf Club.

In "4 seasons in one day" conditions, Wellington posted a 7.5 - 0.5 result over Otago and a very satisfying 5.5 - 2.5 win over locals and hosts Southland.

All players contributed with Jonno Cane, EJ Nicholson and Steve Thomson scoring particularily well around the championship course.

The 72 hole strokeplay at Manor Park comes into strong focus now with the Stu Smith Masters quad team being named after this event, an 8 man team for this event at the Waverley GC in Taranaki, with the Fretberg team being named after this.
