Junior Pennants and Watt Cup Finals
The Junior Pennants and Watt Cup finals were played at Wainuiomata GC in fine but blustery conditions yesterday with parents and supporters out in full force to witness some excellent golf played by some of Wellington's future stars.
Martinborough continued their strong form in the Junior Pennants to beat Titahi (2nd) Judgeford (3rd) and Boulcotts Farm (4th).
Martinborough number 1, Walter Barber, top scored shooting an 80 off a 10 handicap for 37 points. He was well supported by team mates George Wilkins (36 points) and Reece Everson (33 points) for a combined total of 106 points, 12 points clear of second placed Titahi who boasted the youngest (and probably shortest!) team which included two 9 year olds.
In the Watt Cup, Boulcotts Farm proved to be too strong for Paraparaumu winning 6-2 after some good, hard fought matches.
Max Quinn-Tapara from Boulcotts Farm picked up maximum points beating the brothers Gray & Ben Laurenson 5/4 and 3/1 respectively. Fellow team mates Zach Boyle and Jack Clout both managed a win and a half with fourth team member Spencer McLuskie managing a win and a loss. Brady Bernard from Paraparaumu went unbeaten at the top of the order, halving both of his matches.
