Champions Found at Age Grade Champs

A wondeful field of 90+ junior golfers competed in the Wellington Age Grade champs in the July school holidays, the 36 hole Strokeplay championship being held at Royal Wellington and Boulcott's farm, with the resultant matchplay champs being held the following two days at Boulcott's Farm.

In the Girls strokeplay champs Kayla Van der Ven from the Hawkeas Bay was the winner, doubling down on this effort by winning the matchplay title - an impresiive weeks golf!!

In the Boys strokeplay, Sameer Govind and Cordell Henare from the Hawkes Bay, were tied after regualtion play, and after two extra holes in fading light they couldn't be separated, the title being shared.

In the Boys matchplay the final was fought out bewteen Layton Prince and Saul Barker, the Hawkes Bay player getting home narrowly after a great 4 days golf.

Many thanks to those who travelled in groups from Taranaki, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Taupo and Auckalnd - we look forward to the 2025 event, locked in for the strokeplay at Royal Wellington and the matchplay at Boulcott's Farm.
